Senior Software Developer – Java

The Senior Java developer will work with a suite of applications in the Payment Policy Management platform to help build and deliver features as a part of the team using SAFe practices. The developer will be focusing on one or more specific initiatives with the team. The developer will be responsible for implementing features for upcoming new initiatives while also making recommendations and improving the existing code base.

The developer should have experience designing, building, and supporting complex Java applications in an enterprise environment. The developer should also be able to solution and contribute independently with little or no guidance. The ideal candidate will have prior experience leading and architecting in an enterprise environment and contribute as a developer helping deliver against challenging deadlines.


Development for applications used by external and internal customers using Java and related technologies.
Work with Product owner and other team members to develop software using Scrum methodology.
Participate in peer reviews.
Build and support delivery of code by following Cotiviti processes.
Build quality code. Help improve code quality and maintainability of existing code while continuing to meet challenging deadlines for business delivery.
Support L3 production issues helping to quickly triage and resolve issues of developed software.


Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering or equivalent.
+10 years Java experience
Java 8 or higher, experience required.
+5 years Spring experience: Spring Boot and other projects.
Prior experience building and supporting critical enterprise applications.
Strong proficiencies in data structures, algorithms, and design patterns.
Experience with Apache Camel is a plus.
Experience with Oracle or other relational databases.
Strong SQL knowledge and experience.
Experience with Maven, Git and Jenkins required.
Experience with OpenShift or Kubernetes or similar technologies.
Angular 9 or higher experience is a plus.
HealthCare experience pertaining to Medical Claims processing is preferred.
Scrum Agile development or Scaled Agile Framework, Jira experience desired.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work well independently and in a team environment.
Ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritize and meet deadlines.

Base compensation ranges from $130,000 to $159,500 annually. Specific offers are determined by various factors, such as experience, education, skills, certifications, and other business needs. This role is based remotely, and all interviews will be conducted virtually.
